The Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee which had previously warned against the potential health hazards of eating egg yolk have withdrawn this recommendation based on decades of research on the effects of egg yolk. Research has proven that egg yolk has a very little impact on blood cholesterol. In fact, eating the full egg with the yolk has health benefits because it contains metabolism stimulating nutrients and essential fatty acids. In fact, it is very beneficial for the liver because it contains choline—a complex compound that interacts with our genetic structure and inhibits storing of fat around the liver.
